Finance Processing Officer

About the role

The Finance Processing Officer will support the global Welthungerhilfe administrative hub by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and related data. This role contributes to efficient service delivery, operational quality, and the smooth functioning of the hub.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounting transactions based on supporting documentation received through established workflow.
• Ensure timely and accurate booking of financial documents.
• Verify that required supporting documentation is available for processing activities.
• Liaise with finance colleagues across Country Offices to resolve processing issues and follow up on outstanding items.
• Perform account reconciliation activities.
• Maintain proper electronic filing and documentation of accounting records.
• Adapt to a changing operational environment by integrating new processes and responsibilities.
• Support compliance with internal controls, procedures, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with hub team members and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• CPA (K) finalist with at least three years of progressive professional experience.
• Experience in an international NGO and knowledge of donor regulations preferred.
• Audit experience is an added advantage.
• Strong accounting skills, including management of general ledgers, journal entries, payables and balance sheets.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
