Financial Accountant

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating across the East African region (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan). On behalf of its client, it is recruiting a competent, skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to work in Nairobi, Kenya. The role covers recording and classifying financial data, account reconciliation, cost management, financial analysis and supporting budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial records, including general ledger accounts and monthly management accounts
• Analyse actuals against forecast and budget, and prepare exception reports and follow up with operational teams
• Process recurring and non-recurring journal entries and other general ledger entries
• Perform month-end close, support global shared services, and prepare Hyperion reporting packs
• Work with operational teams on budgets and forecasts, and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Review intercompany transactions, follow up on debtors, and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts
• Upload bank statements, prepare bank reconciliations and maintain the fixed asset register
• Assist in preparing financial statements and support internal and external audits
• Prepare VAT, income tax, withholding tax and other country-specific tax reporting and reconciliations
• Manage and lead an engaged team, evaluating staff against SMART goals, and act as an ambassador for the client

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce-Finance degree
• Minimum 2-3 years of direct experience in the specified duties
• Experience in the clearing and forwarding environment
