Financial Analyst for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Financial Analyst to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The analyst will evaluate financial data, ensure compliance with budgeting and reporting requirements, and provide actionable recommendations that align with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze budgets, expenditures, and financial reports to support accurate forecasting and financial planning.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports and summaries in accordance with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor financial accounts and perform variance analyses comparing budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures.
• Assist with budget formulation, allocation, and tracking of financial transactions.
• Evaluate financial trends, identify risks, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
• Collaborate with program managers, contract administrators, and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate financial execution.
• Provide pricing support and cost analysis during proposal and bid development.
• Maintain financial records for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with FAR and DFARS.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of financial management systems and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of U.S. Government financial regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to travel internationally.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
