Fleet & Administration Manager (Freight Forwarding Operations)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a Fleet & Administration Manager for its freight forwarding operations in Nairobi, Kenya. This is a full-time, fixed-term position covering fleet operations, administration, performance monitoring and team supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Fleet operations: supervise the Operations Controller, monitor fleet productivity, vehicle utilization, trip performance and operational efficiency, coordinate resources to minimize downtime, and support transport strategy and continuous improvement.
• Administration: oversee administrative functions, ensure accurate records and documentation, coordinate correspondence and approvals, manage procurement requests and office requirements, and ensure adherence to SOPs and document retention.
• Fleet performance: monitor departmental KPIs, review operational reports and recommend corrective actions, and coordinate performance review meetings and action plans.
• People management: supervise, coach and mentor the Operations Controller and Compliance Officer, conduct performance reviews, identify training needs and promote a high-performance culture.
• Risk, safety and governance: promote HSSEQ compliance, support safety initiatives and risk management, and ensure incidents are escalated and corrected.
• Reporting: prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports, review them before submission to the Fleet & Transport Solutions Manager, and prepare management presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional qualification in Transport Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, Project Management or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
• Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., CILT, KISM, KIFWA) is desirable.
