Food Services Supervisor

About the role

JW Marriott in Nairobi is looking for a Food Services Supervisor to lead the food and beverage team and make sure guests receive excellent service. The position is full time and based in Westlands, Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the team working together so that guest needs are met, and check staff grooming and attire, correcting any deficiencies
• Complete opening and closing duties such as setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
• Inspect storage areas for organisation, FIFO use and cleanliness, and complete scheduled inventories and stock requisitions
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, coaching and discipline
• Act as the first point of contact for the Open Door Policy and follow company safety and security policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely
• Identify and implement improvements that raise efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and cost savings

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent (preferred)
• At least 2 years of related work experience (preferred)
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred)
