General Manager – Nairobi Operations

About the role

SunCulture is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Kenya operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the GM will be responsible for delivering the company’s mission, vision and strategic initiatives in Nairobi and across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Executive Committee to implement corporate strategy and drive growth in Kenya.
• Provide strategic direction and overall P&L management for the Kenya operating company.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Kenya OpCo team, ensuring high performance.
• Maintain the health of the PAYGrow credit portfolio in line with company KPIs.
• Implement continuous operational and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Optimize equipment lifecycle management, including stock levels, dispatch logistics, installations and asset repossessions.
• Manage operating expenditure, enforce cost‑control measures and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Structure, negotiate and secure diverse funding mechanisms such as debt, equity and revenue‑based financing to support scaling and working capital needs.
• Act as the communication bridge between the headquarters and field operations, ensuring alignment.
• Set clear goals, KPIs and performance targets for the Kenya team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior general management or country‑level leadership roles.
• Strong decision‑making, accountability and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated capacity to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and foster a results‑driven, customer‑centric culture.
• Experience managing P&L, operational budgets and financing arrangements.
