General Manager - Private Members' Golf Club

About the role

Career Directions Limited is recruiting on behalf of Sigona Golf Club, a respected private members' club known for its championship golf course, community and high standards of service. The General Manager reports to the Board of Directors through the Honorary Secretary and provides overall leadership of the Club's operations, turning Board strategy into measurable results across golf, hospitality, membership services, finance, facilities and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all Club departments, setting operating standards and driving service quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement annual operating plans, budgets and forecasts; monitor financial performance, control costs and identify sustainable revenue opportunities.
• Oversee golf operations and course standards, hospitality, events, facilities maintenance and the overall experience of members and guests.
• Build relationships with members, the Board, staff, sponsors, suppliers and industry partners, strengthening member engagement, satisfaction and retention.
• Lead, develop and appraise departmental heads and staff, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and service-focused culture.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, effective risk management, sound internal controls and timely, accurate operational and financial reporting to the Board.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience, including five years in senior management within hospitality or a private members' club, with proven profit-and-loss accountability.
• Demonstrated strengths in strategic leadership, financial management, people development, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance.
• Prior General Manager experience in a comparable club, familiarity with golf, or relevant professional membership is an advantage.
