German Language Trainer (Full-time, On-site)

About the role

Meru University of Science and Technology is seeking a full‑time, on‑site German Language Trainer to deliver structured language instruction to learners at various proficiency levels. The role involves planning, teaching, assessing, and supporting students while collaborating with faculty to align the program with academic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans for German language courses across beginner to advanced levels.
• Conduct classroom sessions, practical language activities, and interactive exercises.
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate training records.
• Prepare instructional materials, assessments, and learning resources tailored to student needs.
• Offer academic support and guidance to learners throughout the course.
• Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to ensure alignment with curriculum goals.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Demonstrated experience in training and development, preferably in language instruction.
• Background in instructional design, lesson planning, and assessment creation.
• Customer‑service orientation focused on learner support and a positive learning environment.
• Relevant academic qualification in German language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; teaching certification is an advantage.
• Experience teaching in an academic or professional setting, preferably higher education.
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage time effectively, and use digital tools for teaching.

Required skills

• German language proficiency at minimum B2 level (or equivalent certification).
• Proficiency with digital teaching tools and learning management systems.
