Global Anticipatory Action Specialist

About the role
The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Global Anticipatory Action Specialist to provide technical leadership for its anticipatory action portfolio across East Africa and the Great Lakes region. The role will support the design and implementation of innovative tools that forecast displacement and enable timely, dignified humanitarian assistance.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the technical focal point for all anticipatory action activities in assigned countries, supporting project delivery and coordination.
- Manage grant and project components of regional AA programmes, including the AHEAD and SCALAA projects.
- Develop and refine AA data models and analytical approaches using local and global datasets.
- Provide technical guidance to country‑office focal points and assist with the activation of anticipatory action plans.
- Support institutionalisation of AA within national and regional government structures, contributing to roadmaps, contingency plans and government‑led AAPs.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in humanitarian anticipatory action, climate‑ and conflict‑induced displacement, or related fields.
- Proven track record of managing multi‑country projects and coordinating with donors and partners.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian programming, data‑driven decision making and multi‑hazard risk analysis.
