Global Awards and Donor Compliance Manager

About the role

The Global Awards and Donor Compliance Manager leads the Awards Management unit, strengthening award management, donor compliance and partnership management across complex humanitarian and development programmes. The role provides strategic guidance throughout the award lifecycle, ensuring compliance while maintaining programme quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support management of donor‑funded awards from proposal review through implementation, modification and close‑out.
• Provide strategic guidance on donor compliance, risk mitigation, regulations and organisational policies.
• Monitor country office performance against awards standards, identify risks and support corrective actions.
• Strengthen donor reporting quality and oversee partnership management processes, including due diligence and sub‑awards.
• Support audit readiness, award close‑out and implement lessons learned.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building initiatives and maintain awards tracking systems and dashboards.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent advanced qualification.
• Minimum seven years' experience in awards, grants or donor compliance management within an international NGO.
• Strong knowledge of major institutional donors (US Government, European donors, foundations).
• Experience reviewing proposal budgets, donor agreements and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to work with country teams in developing‑country contexts.

Required skills

• Experience with grants management systems and databases.
• Proficiency in NetSuite (highly desirable).
• Excellent English writing, editing and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
