Global Roster of Early Childhood Development Specialists

About the role

UNICEF is establishing a Global Roster of Early Childhood Development (ECD) Specialists to provide timely, high‑quality technical support to country offices and government partners. As a roster consultant you will contribute your expertise to strengthen ECD programmes and help mainstream early stimulation across sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice in one of three focus areas: policies & legislation, programme design & implementation, or monitoring, evaluation & learning.
• Support country offices with rapid, on‑demand technical assistance on ECD strategies, interventions and services.
• Contribute to UNICEF’s Centers of Excellence on ECD by sharing best practices and developing guidance materials.
• Assist in building a coherent, resilient ECD ecosystem that reaches children with disabilities and vulnerable groups.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, Public Health, or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering ECD technical support at national or international level.
• Experience working with governments, NGOs, UN agencies, or multilateral partners.
• Ability to work remotely, travel when required, and communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of ECD frameworks, early stimulation, nurturing care, and childcare services.
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s strategic plan, results‑based management, and monitoring tools.
• Capacity to produce technical guidance, training modules, and policy briefs.
