Grade 10 Mathematics/Physics Resident Teacher

About the role

Nova Pioneer Athi River is looking for a Grade 10 Mathematics/Physics Resident Teacher who is ready to start in January 2027. The position is open to teachers with 3+ years of teaching experience who have attained a minimum grade of C+ in the teaching subjects. The school is based in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Teach real-world, enquiry-based Mathematics and Physics lessons aligned with the Kenya curriculum.
• Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Develop lesson plans and work with the Learning Design Team to review and update them.
• Create a classroom environment that supports learning and is suited to students' maturity and interests.
• Provide accommodations and modifications for all students and hold students accountable for content mastery.
• Integrate interactive technology into lessons and set ambitious goals with clear feedback.
• Manage student behaviour through consistent rewards and consequences and model expected behaviour.
• Serve as teacher on duty and/or boarding teacher on duty, supporting behaviour intervention programmes, and act as home room teacher when called upon.
• Capture student academic data and share progress with families and stakeholders.

Required profile

• TSC certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Education (Science) and qualification to teach two subjects.
• Minimum grade of C+ in the teaching subjects and a C+ grade in KCSE.
• Strictly 3+ years of teaching experience in Mathematics and/or Physics.
