Group Exercise Instructor – Health & Wellness

About the role

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a motivated Group Exercise Instructor to lead dynamic fitness classes that inspire members to achieve healthier lifestyles. You will create an inclusive, safe, and energetic environment for participants of all fitness levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging group exercise classes that are safe, effective, and enjoyable.
• Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and modifications to accommodate diverse fitness abilities.
• Monitor participants to ensure proper form, technique, and safety, responding promptly to any accidents or emergencies.
• Maintain a clean, well‑organized studio and report equipment or facility issues.
• Build strong relationships with class members, offering encouragement and positive reinforcement.
• Stay current with industry trends, new exercise techniques, and best practices.
• Participate in YMCA training, development programs, and maintain required certifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; specialty certifications (e.g., Zumba, Yoga) are a plus.
• Nationally recognized group exercise certification (AFAA, ACE, ACSM, or YMCA).
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
• Previous experience teaching group exercise classes preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
