Head of Academics – Early Years

About the role

The Head of Academics – Early Years provides academic leadership for the Early Years section, ensuring high‑quality curriculum delivery and supporting the holistic development of young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership and direction for the Early Years section.
• Coordinate and monitor effective implementation of the school curriculum.
• Supervise, support and mentor Early Years teachers to enhance teaching standards.
• Monitor lesson planning, delivery, assessment and record keeping.
• Track learner progress and implement interventions where necessary.
• Conduct regular classroom observations and give constructive feedback.
• Ensure appropriate teaching and learning resources are available.
• Promote child‑centred, inclusive and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education, Education or related field.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience, preferably in an Early Years setting.
• Previous experience in academic leadership, coordination or supervisory role is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Early Years curriculum, teaching methodologies, assessment and learner development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate teaching staff.
