About the role
The Head of Commercial Credit will lead the administration and quality of a commercial loan portfolio for a large, sophisticated financial institution. This senior position balances loan growth with rigorous credit standards and regulatory compliance while fostering a collaborative culture.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the commercial loan portfolio, ensuring high quality and consistent administration.
- Develop and refine credit policies, conduct complex credit reviews, and manage portfolio risk.
- Maintain underwriting consistency across the organization.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for underwriting and credit staff.
- Partner closely with commercial lending teams to align loan growth objectives with sound credit practices.
Required profile
- Extensive senior‑level experience in commercial credit, underwriting, and risk management.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor credit professionals.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance within the banking sector.
- Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills.
