Insurance Broker Officer (Takaful)

About the role

The Broker Insurance Officer will work on‑site in Nairobi, managing client portfolios and advising on Shariah‑compliant Takaful products. The role involves policy placement, renewals, endorsements and supporting claims while ensuring adherence to Islamic principles and company guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client needs and prepare tailored quotations for Takaful insurance.
• Negotiate terms with partner insurers and place policies.
• Handle policy renewals, endorsements and provide claims support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Build and sustain strong client relationships and collaborate with internal teams to improve products and processes.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in insurance, banking or financial services, preferably within Islamic finance or Takaful.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Insurance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
• High ethical standards and commitment to Shariah‑compliant practices.

Required skills

• Insurance brokerage skills including policy placement and risk assessment.
• Understanding of Takaful principles and Islamic financial concepts.
• Basic financial analysis and premium calculation.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic insurance management systems; ability to learn new tools quickly.
