Head of Communications

About the role

Educate! is seeking a dynamic leader to head its communications function. The role blends strategic vision, operational execution, and editorial oversight to amplify the organization’s impact across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with funder expectations, partner networks, and media priorities.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary communications team, establishing clear processes and performance metrics.
• Translate complex program data and evidence into compelling narratives for donors, policymakers, and the public.
• Oversee content creation, media relations, and brand messaging across all channels.
• Ensure all communications output is consistent, credible, and fundable.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading communications or communications‑related functions in a fast‑growing, mission‑driven organization.
• Strong storytelling ability with a track record of producing high‑impact content for diverse audiences.
• Passion for youth employment, education, and social impact in Africa.
• Excellent leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills.
