Head of Delivery

About the role

The Head of Delivery will lead the operational implementation of a large‑scale, multi‑country programme aimed at improving financial resilience and insurance inclusion for young women across Africa. Reporting to programme leadership, the role ensures that strategy is translated into measurable outcomes and that delivery is disciplined, collaborative, and adaptive.

Key responsibilities

• Translate programme strategy into operational plans, delivery frameworks and measurable outcomes.
• Drive execution, performance management and governance across all workstreams.
• Oversee planning, risk management, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Build and maintain relationships with implementing partners, donors, regulators and senior stakeholders.
• Establish delivery cadence, reporting and accountability mechanisms.
• Lead programme reviews, monitor outcomes, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Facilitate collaboration across countries, functions and partner organisations.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, reporting and knowledge‑management activities.
• Support communications, advocacy and stakeholder‑engagement initiatives.
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure financial stewardship, compliance, governance and donor reporting throughout the programme lifecycle.

Required profile

• 11+ years of experience leading large‑scale programmes, portfolios or transformation initiatives.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑country, multi‑partner programmes.
• Strong operational leadership with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
• Expertise in programme management, including planning, governance, risk management, budgeting and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing large budgets and aligning expenditure with delivery progress and outcomes.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑engagement skills with senior executives, donors, boards and regulators.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams across geographies.
