Head of Engineering & Data

About the role

We are looking for a senior technical leader to define and execute Nuru Solutions’ technology strategy. The role will transform the core web platform into scalable, multi‑channel products for field teams and farmers while driving data, AI/ML and product development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud‑native architecture, databases, and data pipelines, including satellite index integration and AI/ML models.
• Own the end‑to‑end technology vision and roadmap, aligning it with business growth and commercial objectives.
• Automate ML and data pipelines to improve margins and enable scaling without proportional headcount growth.
• Direct software development cycles from prototyping to production, ensuring rapid iteration based on user feedback.
• Manage and mentor engineering and data teams, building in‑house capabilities and reducing reliance on contractors.
• Partner with the CEO and operations lead on market opportunities, investor communications, and compliance with data privacy regulations.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years leading engineering teams.
• Proven track record building and scaling cloud‑native platforms (AWS preferred) and production‑grade data pipelines.
• Hands‑on expertise in architecting AI/ML‑powered products and working closely with data scientists.
• Experience translating ambiguous client and field needs into technical specifications and roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and manage blended engineering‑data teams.
