Head of Nursing School

About the role

The Head of Nursing School will lead the nursing faculty in delivering high‑quality academic and clinical education. Reporting to the principal, this senior position oversees curriculum implementation, clinical training, faculty performance, and regulatory compliance within the Nairobi campus.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily preparation and execution of lesson plans, schemes of work and timetables for the nursing faculty.
• Coordinate and evaluate nursing training programmes to ensure full syllabus coverage and alignment with modern education trends.
• Manage the skills lab, ensuring it meets NCK simulation standards and is fully equipped.
• Supervise clinical instructors, monitor student rotations with partner hospitals, and prepare students for national NCK examinations.
• Lead faculty performance management, conduct departmental meetings and recommend continuous professional development.
• Ensure strict adherence to NCK teacher‑to‑student ratios, logbook upkeep and audit requirements.
• Enforce institutional rules, handle student disciplinary matters and maintain student administration records.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in nursing education or related clinical training.
• Proven ability to manage academic programmes and lead a team of tutors and clinical instructors.
• Strong knowledge of Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and TVETA regulations.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
