Head of Road Freight – Kenya

About the role

The Head of Road Freight for Kenya will lead DHL Global Forwarding's road freight business in the region, aligning strategy with global objectives and local market conditions. This senior position is responsible for growing market share, optimizing assets, and delivering profitable results.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Road Freight (RFR) strategy in line with group and regional goals.
• Identify and nurture sustainable customer relationships, handling enquiries and complaints.
• Lead strategic engagements with key accounts and industrial project customers.
• Coordinate pricing strategies to sustain profitable growth.
• Drive sales performance, set targets, and implement motivation initiatives.
• Manage cost structures, implement improvement actions, and monitor KPIs.
• Maintain the industrial project customer database for targeted outreach.
• Represent the company with trade bodies, government agencies, and regulatory authorities.
• Negotiate carrier contracts and ensure compliance with security regulations.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in road freight or logistics.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving sales and profit targets.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including customers, carriers, and authorities.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives in a dynamic market.
