Head, Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Growth

About the role

The Head of Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Growth will lead the development and execution of partnership strategies to drive revenue and expand market presence for KCB Bank Kenya Limited.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies, identifying growth areas, market trends, and high‑value partners.
• Build and manage a diverse portfolio of strategic alliances, maintaining strong relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders.
• Lead identification and pursuit of new strategic business opportunities, including acquisitions, market expansion, and large grants or contracts.
• Negotiate and structure high‑impact partnership agreements in collaboration with cross‑functional teams while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Monitor financial reports, KPI dashboards, and other data to track ROI and health of the partnership ecosystem.
• Prepare updates and presentations for EXCO and Board on revenue targets and strategic milestones.
• Foster internal relationships across business units to support growth of partnership‑derived products.
• Represent the bank at industry events to maintain presence and identify emerging trends.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high‑performing business development and partnerships team, overseeing budgets and resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; MBA or professional qualifications in Marketing or Financial/Investment analysis are a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive management experience in business development, commercialization of new ventures, and strategic partnership growth.
• Proven expertise in deal structuring, negotiations, high‑level stakeholder management, and post‑deal performance monitoring.
• Strong people management and supervision capabilities.
