Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Housekeeping Supervisor in Mombasa, Kenya. The role supervises and manages housekeeping and custodial staff so that all duties are carried out to NGIS standards, and coordinates daily housekeeping activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage housekeeping and custodial staff, scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure operational coverage.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping activities, including room cleaning schedules, common area maintenance and inventory restocking.
• Monitor the quality and efficiency of cleaning services and ensure compliance with operational guidelines and cleanliness standards.
• Train, mentor and guide housekeeping staff, and evaluate their performance and give feedback.
• Use a hotel property management system (PMS) to track room reservations, occupancy and housekeeping updates, and train staff on its use.
• Inspect rooms and facilities before guest occupancy and resolve housekeeping issues, including guest complaints.
• Maintain housekeeping supply inventory and order supplies as needed.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience administering hotel housekeeping and custodial operations.
• At least one year of formal education at college or university level in hospitality management, business administration or a related field.
• Valid passport valid for at least one year at hiring, able to obtain country-specific visas and pass contract medical requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials; must read, speak and understand English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel property management systems (PMS).
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and knowledge of inventory control and ordering practices (preferred).
