HSST Coordinator (Transport, OSH, Security)

About the role

Tupande, the local brand of One Acre Fund's Kenya program, is seeking a strategic leader to head its Transport, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Security operations. Based in Kakamega, the role manages a team, drives efficiency and compliance and optimizes budgets to keep the work environment safe and cost-effective for staff and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Transport: run daily operations, audit management systems, manage assets and projects, resolve driver and vehicle issues, enforce policies and maintenance schedules.
• OSH: plan and run annual OSH audits and training, organize reports and certificates, oversee compliance and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Security: act as the main daily contact for the Vendor Security Manager, validate vendor reports, follow up on maintenance SLAs, coordinate incident reporting and access control enforcement.
• Budget: track expenditure, analyze costs, support monthly budget variance reports, monitor budgets to save 10% annually and review vendor invoices against purchase orders.
• Team: recruit, train and develop staff, track performance metrics, identify future leaders and foster an inclusive workplace.

Required profile

• Citizen or permanent resident of Kenya; start date as soon as possible.
• Knowledge of fleet management, logistics, safety regulations and OSHA standards in Kenya.
• Ability to carry out hazard identification and risk assessment, and knowledge of fire suppression and evacuation protocols.
• Understanding of security, access controls and SLA management with private security firms.
