Human Resource Officer - Manufacturing

About the role

The Human Resource Officer supports and implements HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the business objectives in a manufacturing environment. The role covers recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, payroll coordination and general HR operations within the factory setup.

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment and selection: coordinate end-to-end recruitment, advertise vacancies, shortlist candidates, interview and facilitate onboarding and induction.
• Employee relations: handle grievances and disciplinary matters, prepare show cause and warning letters, support conflict resolution.
• Performance management: coordinate appraisals, monitor probation confirmations and contract renewals, support supervisors with performance issues.
• Payroll and benefits: prepare payroll inputs (overtime, leave, deductions), ensure statutory deductions are accurate, maintain benefits records.
• Compliance: ensure compliance with labor laws and manufacturing regulations, keep employee records and statutory documents up to date, liaise with regulators when needed.
• HR administration: maintain employee files and HR systems, manage leave and attendance records, prepare HR reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a diploma in the same field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar HR role.
• Experience working in a manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws and industrial relations.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Membership with a relevant professional HR body is an added advantage.
