Human Resource Officer – Retail Sector

About the role

Powervision Consultancy is recruiting a proactive, experienced Human Resource Officer for a client in the retail sector. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring compliance with Kenyan employment laws, and supporting workforce management across retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, and employee separation processes.
• Develop, review, implement, and enforce HR policies while ensuring compliance with the Kenyan Employment Act and related labour laws.
• Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary cases, and performance management initiatives.
• Coordinate monthly payroll preparation, leave administration, attendance tracking, and HR reporting.
• Support workforce planning, staffing levels, and operational HR needs, providing HR manager‑level leadership when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 4–5 years progressive HR experience, preferably in retail or multi‑outlet environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HR operations, Kenyan labour legislation, and HR best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• High integrity, discretion, professionalism and ability to work independently.
