Head of HR, Africa Region

About the role

BRAC International is seeking a Head of HR for its Africa region to provide strategic and operational HR support to Country Offices and the Nairobi Central Office. The role reports to the Regional Director, Africa and works closely with the Dhaka Central Office HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of the HR strategy across the Africa region.
• Guide contextualisation, roll‑out and adherence to HR policies in line with national laws.
• Oversee recruitment, performance management, grievance and disciplinary processes for staff below Head/Deputy level.
• Drive rollout of new salary scales, talent management, succession planning and digital HR system implementation.
• Ensure HR practices meet donor requirements and support expansion into new countries.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree; professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD) is an advantage.
• At least 10 years HR experience, including 5 years in multinational/international development.
• Proven experience in leadership, strategy development, and managing HR across multiple countries.
• Strong analytical, judgment and integrity, with frequent regional travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with digital HR systems and talent management processes.
