Human Resources Officer – Retail

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will support the HR function of a hypermarket in Kenya, handling day‑to‑day administrative tasks and assisting with employee relations, training, and recruitment as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare HR correspondence, reports and documentation.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries on medicals, insurance, visas, company assets and transfers.
• Support employee‑relations activities and help resolve basic HR issues.
• Assist in coordinating training and development programmes.
• Support performance‑management processes, including appraisal coordination and documentation.
• Participate in recruitment activities and facilitate onboarding when required.
• Report any incidents that could affect company operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management.
• At least 2 years of HR experience in retail or hospitality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
