Humanitarian Operations Technical Advisor I (Remote – ESARO)

About the role

Catholic Relief Services is seeking a Humanitarian Operations Technical Advisor I to provide rapid, deployable technical support for emergency response programmes across the ESARO region. The position is remote‑based and will serve multiple countries, offering expertise in supply‑chain, procurement and logistics during crises.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver in‑country surge support for humanitarian emergencies, focusing on procurement, logistics and supply‑chain processes.
• Assist with the set‑up and strengthening of emergency sub‑offices, ensuring compliance with CRS operational standards and donor requirements.
• Provide remote and onsite technical assistance for emergency operations planning, implementation and close‑out.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, security, ICT and fleet management teams to integrate operational functions.
• Contribute to operational learning, guidance implementation and capacity‑building for country programmes and partners.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in humanitarian emergency response, particularly in supply‑chain and logistics.
• Ability to work remotely and travel to field locations on short notice.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance and CRS operational standards.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
