ICT Officer

About the role

The ICT Officer will ensure optimal performance of the company’s IT infrastructure and enterprise systems, safeguarding data and supporting commercial, billing, and field operations. This role is essential for reliable service delivery within the energy and utilities sector.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support utility‑specific software such as billing systems, CRM, and ERP databases.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for staff.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies, including firewall and antivirus management, and perform regular data and application backups.
• Analyse system requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Train end‑users on new and existing technologies.
• Provide administrative and technical support, ensuring proper usage and security of systems.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of hardware and software assets.
• Ensure system integrity, physical security of equipment, and keep documentation current.
• Update and upgrade the company website and manage consumable supplies.
• Supervise, train, appraise, and motivate the computer‑section staff.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized university.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on IT support experience, with some supervisory responsibilities.
• Professional certification such as CCNA is an advantage.
