Insider Threat Analyst – Cybersecurity (Malaysia/India)

About the role

Standard Chartered is seeking an experienced Insider Threat Analyst to join its Insider Threat Defence Team. The role can be based in Malaysia or India and focuses on detecting, investigating, and mitigating insider risks that could impact the bank’s assets and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term strategies for identifying emerging insider threats in collaboration with the Head of Insider Threat Defence.
• Monitor user activity, system logs, and behavioural data using insider‑threat detection tools to spot suspicious patterns.
• Analyse trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership through regular reports.
• Lead complex investigations, including forensic analysis, of physical policy violations, data leaks, espionage, fraud and other insider incidents.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, IT and other stakeholders to align policies, ensure compliance and drive remediation actions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level specialist with proven experience in insider‑threat investigations and forensic techniques.
• Strong ability to apply risk‑assessment methodologies to uncover control gaps across business processes and technology.
• Capable of independently managing end‑to‑end investigations and communicating findings to cross‑functional teams.
