Internal Auditor - Renewable Energy

About the role

The Partnership Agency is hiring an Internal Auditor for its renewable energy business in Nairobi. The role provides independent assurance that risk management and internal control processes are designed and implemented correctly, covering operations effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with applicable directives and regulations. It reports to the Senior Internal Auditor.

Key responsibilities

• Design the internal audit scope and develop and implement risk-based internal audit programmes
• Carry out risk assessments for the business and maintain an updated risk register
• Assist in preparing the audit coverage plan based on each business segment's risk profile
• Design audit tests that increase the likelihood of detecting fraud and help prevent it
• Prepare draft reports, discuss them with auditees, then prepare final reports with findings, risks and recommendations
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely corrective action
• Coordinate with the company's external auditors
• Carry out audit investigations and ad-hoc assignments
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements

Required profile

• Degree in a business field or related course
• Qualified as CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent
• At least three years of experience
• Proven knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules and regulations
• Ability to work at all levels of management, with high integrity, confidentiality and self-drive

Required skills

• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, accounting software and databases
• Ability to handle large amounts of data and compile detailed reports
• Great attention to detail and strong analytical skills
