About the role

AfyaMeet is seeking a qualified Internal Medicine Physician to deliver comprehensive virtual care to adult patients across Kenya. This remote, contract position offers flexible scheduling aligned with patient demand on our digital health platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed medical histories and virtual physical assessments via video consultations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Review test results, adjust treatment plans, and coordinate specialist referrals when needed.
• Document all encounters accurately in electronic medical records.
• Provide patient education, promote preventive care, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals on the platform.

Required profile

• Current full registration and licensure with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) as an Internal Medicine Physician.
• Completed residency training in Internal Medicine and board certification or equivalent recognition.
• Strong clinical skills in adult primary care, chronic disease management, and acute care triage.
• Proficiency in telemedicine practice and remote clinical decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills with culturally sensitive patient interaction.
• Reliable internet connection and suitable telehealth setup.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to flexible, contract‑based scheduling.
