Inventory Officer

About the role

The Inventory Officer will manage stock levels, ensure accurate record‑keeping, and supervise warehouse staff within a manufacturing and warehousing environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining optimal inventory flow for packaging materials, finished goods, and coconut collections.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile any inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain and update bin cards and all inventory movement documentation.
• Oversee storage of packaging materials and finished goods to maximise space utilisation.
• Manage coconut inventory across multiple collection centres, ensuring accurate tracking.
• Supervise warehouse assistants and enforce inventory handling procedures.
• Communicate damaged or obsolete stock to the inventory manager promptly.
• Review and adjust reorder levels based on current and forecasted production needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Analyse inventory data and produce regular reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Accounting or CPA finalist.
• At least 3 years of experience in inventory management or a related accounting role.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and procedures.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Willingness to reside in Lamu and prior experience working there.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Competence in using MS Office applications.
