Investment Manager – Impact Investing

About the role

The Investment Manager will lead deal sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management for impact investments across African startup ecosystems, supporting humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate relationships with startups, accelerators, incubators and investors across Africa.
• Lead due diligence, including market analysis, financial modelling, impact assessment and risk evaluation, and prepare Investment Memos for the Investment Committee.
• Support portfolio companies post‑investment with strategic guidance, fundraising assistance and impact assessments, linking them to IRC country programmes.
• Contribute to sector mapping, refine investment theses and represent Airbel Ventures in regional investor networks and events.
• Manage internal IRC stakeholders throughout the investment cycle and assist the Managing Partner with fundraising and portfolio strategy.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience in venture capital, impact investing, development finance or management consulting.
• Proven experience managing full due‑diligence processes and strong networks within African startup ecosystems.
• Master’s degree in finance, business, economics or related field preferred.
• Right to work in Kenya.

• Excellent financial analysis and financial modelling skills.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for research and analysis.
