Investment Officer

About the role

The Investment Officer will support Inkomoko Kenya’s mission to provide financing and advisory services to entrepreneurs, including refugee‑owned businesses. The role involves managing the full investment lifecycle from borrower outreach to portfolio monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence, collect borrower information, prepare investment contracts and disburse funds.
• Maintain borrower relationships, monitor repayments, and keep delinquency rates within targets.
• Update the Investment Management System (CBS powered by Mifos) with disbursements and repayments, ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare credit reports for Investment Committee meetings and support Kiva fundraising documentation.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in investment management, micro‑finance or related lending environments.
• Fluent in English and Swahili; knowledge of local language a plus.
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented and able to handle difficult client conversations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with investment management software, specifically Mifos/CBS.
• Financial analysis and accounting skills.
• Experience with Islamic lending practices (preferred).
