Irish, CSPE, SPHE & GAA Future Leaders Teacher

About the role

The Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board is seeking a qualified teacher to deliver Irish, CSPE, SPHE and the GAA Future Leaders programme on a job‑share basis. The position is fixed‑term and based at Scoil Aireagail, focusing on high‑quality teaching and student development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Irish language lessons (14 hours per week) in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach CSPE (6 hours per week), ensuring students understand civic, social and political education.
• Provide SPHE instruction (1 hour per week) promoting personal, social and health development.
• Lead the GAA Future Leaders programme (1 hour per week) to develop leadership and sporting skills.
• Assess student progress, maintain records and contribute to whole‑school improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and community partners to support cross‑curricular learning.

Required profile

• Registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland (essential).
• Relevant teaching qualification meeting the Council’s standards for the subjects advertised.
• Demonstrated professional knowledge of Irish, CSPE, SPHE and GAA leadership curricula.
• Ability to integrate literacy, numeracy and critical thinking across subjects.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
