ISP Field Technician – Fibre Optic Installation & Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for an ISP Field Technician to join our team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for installing, testing and maintaining fibre optic networks for residential and business customers, ensuring reliable internet connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Install FTTH and FTTB connections, pull and route fibre and Cat6 cables, and terminate and label them.
• Configure and test customer premises equipment, routers and switches, and verify service functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve network faults, perform preventive maintenance, and replace damaged components.
• Perform fibre splicing using fusion splicers and conduct OTDR and power‑meter testing.
• Interact professionally with customers, explain equipment usage and address concerns.
• Work safely at heights, use PPE, and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Complete installation reports, maintenance logs and update work orders in the company system.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.
• Up to 24 months of experience in fibre optic installation or telecom field work.
• Ability to work at heights and follow safety procedures.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and clear communication skills.
