IT Event Management Engineer

About the role

The IT Event Management Engineer designs, implements and continuously improves global event detection and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve IT issues before they impact users or services. This role bridges engineering, automation and service management to drive reliability across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain event ingestion pipelines from multiple monitoring sources and develop correlation logic to reduce noise.
• Build automation scripts and workflows for automatic remediation of known issues and integrate with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Create SOPs, runbooks and configuration templates to standardize event triage and escalation.
• Conduct health checks, analyze event trends and drive continuous improvement to reduce false positives.
• Support governance, audits and KPI reporting for uptime, MTTD and MTTR.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• ITIL Foundation (minimum); ITIL Intermediate or ITIL 4 Managing Professional preferred.
• 10‑12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in IT Operations, Monitoring and Event Management.
• Proven experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., OpsBridge, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Site24x7).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ITOM and monitoring frameworks, event correlation and alert tuning.
• Automation and scripting with PowerShell, Python and Ansible.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and APIs integration.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools such as ServiceNow or SMAX.
• Dashboard and reporting tools like Power BI and Kibana.
