JSS Mathematics/Physics Resident Teacher – Maternity Cover (2 months)

About the role

Nova Pioneer Schools seeks a dynamic JSS Mathematics/Physics Resident Teacher to cover a maternity leave for two months at the Athi River campus. The role involves delivering an engaging 21st‑century learning experience aligned with the CBE curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a safe, secure environment and plan daily activities according to curriculum and lesson plans.
• Develop, review and update schemes of work and lesson plans in partnership with the Curriculum Development Manager.
• Set assessments, prepare materials, and organise activities that promote physical, mental and social development.
• Monitor and report on each child’s progress to school leaders and parents.
• Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to diverse needs.
• Enforce behaviour rules, supervise class projects, field trips and experiential activities.
• Attend professional meetings, conferences and training to maintain competence.
• Assist with bus loading/unloading and perform any other duties assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Valid TSC certificate.
• Relevant degree in Education.
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexibility, problem‑solving ability and openness to change.
• Desire to develop leadership skills and contribute to African youth development.
