Key Account Manager - Large Scale

About the role

We are looking for a technically and commercially strong Key Account Manager to lead our Large Scale customer segment in Kenya. You will be responsible for building long‑term strategic partnerships, retaining existing accounts and driving new business growth for Syngenta’s crop protection portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Syngenta’s most valuable large‑scale customer relationships, creating long‑term value and strategic partnerships.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and develop customer‑specific business plans with clear volume, value and margin objectives.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and promotional investments while ensuring credit exposure and payment terms comply with company policy.
• Forecast demand, plan inventory and maintain zero Bad & Doubtful Debt Provision (BDDP) on a yearly basis.
• Lead end‑to‑end market strategies, including marketing campaigns, sales enablement, technical support and coordination with supply‑chain functions.
• Utilise digital analytics, Salesforce, Cropwise and other CRM tools to drive systematic customer engagement and opportunity management.
• Develop and execute comprehensive channel strategies for the assigned territory.

Required profile

• Proven experience in key account management within the agriculture or crop‑protection sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage credit and payment terms.
• Ability to analyse market trends, assess risks and identify growth opportunities.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills at C‑level.
