About the role
Westlands Specialist Hospital in Nairobi is hiring a Laboratory Technician on a full-time basis. The role supports patient-centred healthcare by collecting, testing and reporting clinical samples, while keeping the laboratory safe, clean and accurate.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, prepare and analyse patient specimens such as blood, urine and tissue
- Perform routine and specialised laboratory tests accurately and within set timelines
- Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Record, verify and report test results to clinicians
- Maintain laboratory hygiene, safety and infection control standards
- Manage stock levels of reagents and laboratory supplies
- Follow quality assurance and standard operating procedures
Required profile
- Diploma or Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Valid KMLTTB registration or licence
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Good knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control practices
- Attention to detail, reliability and strong communication skills
