Lecturer - Actuarial Sciences

About the role

Karatina University is recruiting a full-time Lecturer in Actuarial Sciences for a middle-level position in Nyeri, Kenya. The role combines university teaching and assessment with supervision of student projects and dissertations, course development and research participation.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in the discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate level
• Supervise undergraduate projects and other experiential learning programmes
• Supervise dissertations and theses at graduate level
• Participate in developing undergraduate and postgraduate courses
• Initiate, promote and take part in research projects
• Provide professional and community services, and initiate linkages and fundraising
• Carry out other administrative duties as assigned

Required profile

• Earned doctorate degree or its equivalent from a recognised academic institution
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
• For Health and ICT fields: ORA master's degree from an accredited university and at least three years of university teaching experience
• At least one publication (publications give an added advantage)
