About the role

The Technical University of Mombasa seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Biochemistry (Grade 12A) to join its medical faculty. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality, competency‑based instruction to MBChB students and integrate laboratory diagnostics with clinical teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Teach core biochemistry concepts to medical students, ensuring alignment with competency‑based curricula.
• Bridge laboratory diagnostics and clinical pathology, guiding students in interpreting biochemical tests.
• Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate researchers, supporting publication of peer‑reviewed findings.
• Collaborate with Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology faculty for multidisciplinary teaching and exam preparation.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry or Biochemistry, or MBChB with a Master’s in Biochemistry.
• Proven record of research articles in refereed journals.
• Familiarity with Competency‑Based Medical Education (CBME) frameworks (advantageous).
• Strong clinical and scientific knowledge of metabolic diseases, molecular genetics, and diagnostic stewardship.
