Lecturer – Clinical Medicine

About the role

The University seeks a Lecturer in Clinical Medicine to deliver undergraduate lectures, prepare course materials, supervise academic projects and contribute to curriculum development. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Nairobi and supports the university’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach undergraduate courses using learner‑centred methods.
• Conduct practical, skills‑lab or computer‑lab sessions and supervise students during clinical, field and community placements.
• Prepare course outlines, teaching materials, set, mark and moderate examinations and continuous assessments, including OSCEs where applicable.
• Supervise student research projects and contribute to curriculum development and review.
• Engage in research, publication and community outreach, and serve on departmental and university committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Clinical Medicine or related health science; PhD preferred.
• At least two years of university‑level teaching experience.
• Registration and a valid practising licence with the relevant regulatory body.
• Degrees recognised by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and ability to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Willingness to teach and supervise across classroom, laboratory, clinical and community settings.

Required skills

• Good communication, mentorship and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency with ICT/e‑learning tools for teaching.
