Lecturer – Community Health

About the role

Tangaza University seeks a full‑time Lecturer in Community Health to deliver undergraduate lectures, prepare course materials, supervise academic projects and contribute to curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach undergraduate courses using learner‑centred methods.
• Conduct practical, skills‑lab or computer‑lab sessions and supervise students during clinical, field and community placements.
• Prepare course outlines, teaching materials, set, mark and moderate examinations and continuous assessments, including practical exams such as OSCEs.
• Supervise student research projects and mentor students.
• Engage in research, publication, community outreach and serve on departmental and university committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Community Health, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Promotion or Community Health Nursing (PhD preferred or required depending on the field).
• At least two years of university‑level teaching experience.
• Degrees from universities recognised by the Commission for University Education (CUE); foreign qualifications must be recognised or equated by CUE.
• Current registration and a valid practising licence with the relevant regulatory body where applicable.
• Ability to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct and meet constitutional integrity requirements.

• Willingness to teach and supervise across classroom, laboratory, clinical and community settings.
