Lecturer (Level 2) - Occupational Therapy

About the role

Kenya Medical Training College is recruiting a Level 2 Lecturer in Occupational Therapy in Nairobi (Westlands). The post involves teaching and assessing occupational therapy students, supporting curriculum implementation and continuing education, and conducting research in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and evaluate students
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans
• Assess students in clinical areas
• Guide and counsel students on academic matters
• Support the design and development of instruments to assess health training needs
• Develop guidelines for the evaluation of health teaching materials
• Evaluate training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance
• Implement the competence-based curriculum
• Plan and organise continuing education programmes for health workers
• Conduct research in the area of specialisation and supervise students on research projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy, OR a KMTC Higher Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Renal Rehabilitation, Community Based Rehabilitation or Speech and Language Therapy
• Registration with the Occupational Therapy Council of Kenya (OTCoK)
• Valid practicing license
