Legal Associate – Corporate Legal & Compliance

About the role

Turaco is seeking a highly organized Legal Associate to manage compliance, contract reviews, and regulatory advice. The role focuses on insurance legal matters, commercial law disputes, and supporting internal teams with legal services.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements such as insurance policies, service level agreements, vendor contracts, and terms & conditions.
• Maintain organized commercial contracts, implement tracking systems, and manage the contract lifecycle.
• Identify and escalate legal risks, enhance contracting efficiency, and provide legal research and advice.
• Handle legal compliance with insurance regulators, data protection authorities, and manage Company Secretary duties for all Turaco entities.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years post‑admission experience in a busy law firm or corporate legal department.
• LL.B degree, KSL legal diploma, and admission as an advocate of the High Court.
• Knowledge of insurance products and principles is an advantage.
• Strong communication, integrity, and ability to work across geographies and cultures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI tools for legal research and document drafting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
