Legal Research Assistant (Pupil Support)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Research Assistant to support our advocates and pupil in Nairobi. The role involves conducting comprehensive legal research, drafting documents, and maintaining case files in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research, review case law, legislation and regulatory materials.
• Prepare research memos, briefs and concise summaries.
• Assist in drafting and formatting pleadings, opinions, contracts and correspondence.
• Organise case files, maintain accurate records and support document management.
• Collaborate with the pupil and team members, attend internal meetings and aid preparation of court and transaction documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
• Strong grounding in core legal principles and commercial/general practice.
• Current or prospective enrolment in an advocate training program (advantage).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, high ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal research databases.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and document management tools.
