Loan Recovery Assistant

About the role

The Loan Recovery Assistant will support the credit team by managing non‑performing loans, processing direct debits, and handling member communications. This role ensures timely recovery actions and accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on non‑performing loans via calls, emails and text messages.
• Manage direct debits: extract data from loan forms, submit to banks, reconcile monthly and report.
• Send check‑off advice and clearance letters, and follow up with members and employers.
• Issue default notices, respond to member inquiries, and refund guarantors when applicable.
• Process invoices from debt collectors and prepare periodic delinquency reports.
• Verify member information and documents during loan assessment and enforce tiered deposit contributions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Credit Administration, Co‑operative Management or related field.
• CPA finalist or Certified Credit Professional (CCP) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in credit management.
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in word‑processing applications.
